THE SPEED PROJECT
National Down Syndrome Society
The Speed Project tells the story of a group of courageous runners and advocates who embarked on a fundraising mission across Death Valley, covering a staggering 340 miles from LA to Vegas. Our small team documented their journey, spending 50 hours on the asphalt and dirt to capture every moment of this incredible feat.
As we arrived in LA, we knew we were in for a challenge. With only Derek and Jack filming, we had to coordinate our sleep schedules to ensure adequate coverage throughout the entire journey. But the experience of witnessing three sunrises in the desert made it all worthwhile.

By the time we reached Vegas, we had shared an emotional journey with the runners and the supporting volunteers. The night spent under the stars in Death Valley, waiting for the next runner to pass, will forever be etched in our memories. And the joy we felt when the runners' families congratulated them at the finish line was indescribable. Special projects like The Speed Project don't come around often, and we feel immensely grateful to have been a part of it. We hope our documentation of this incredible journey will inspire others to push their limits and raise awareness for the causes they care about.
